Donating online skills to build a brighter future
CO-ID is a small Australian charity that's close to our heart.
For almost 18 years, CO-ID (Co-Operation In Development Australia Inc.) led by Fred Hyde, has been quietly building schools and student care centres in one of the poorest areas of Bangladesh, on Bhola Island in the Ganges Delta. To date, 41 schools have been built.
The proverbial shoe string
Running costs and budgets are lean. Everyone involved is a volunteer, including us. We're happy to donate our online skills to continue the good work.
The Spark Green team produced a new web site, co-ordinates ongoing fund raising email campaigns and has given a lot of team time.
More schools, more children
Through our efforts, five additional schools have now opened with a sixth planned for next year. 1,000 more children have the chance to learn to read, write and look forward to a better quality of life. We are also working towards a solar lighting project so the schools can offer night classes. Another bright idea!

The switch to green power
The power of persuasion. In our Melbourne office block, our co-tenants have moved to green power along with us. It may be a small gesture of change, but it shows that we can all play a part to reduce the impact on the environment.
